Sharon McCusker Biography 2013

Sharon McCusker has been an active FEI trainer and competitor for over 20 years. She has trained with many of the top European and US trainers throughout her career and has trained several horses up to Grand Prix.

She has won many CDIís at Grand Prix over the years with horses she has trained and has ridden at the U.S. Grand Prix National Championships. In 2010 she was long listed for the World Equestrian Games with her horse Juli Sherif.

Sharon has trained many JR and Young Riders and in 2010 her student Erin Shea was reserve champion at the Brentina Cup. In addition she has helped many adult amateur riders earn USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals.

Currently Sharon is campaigning Wrigley, a 10 year old Dutch gelding which she has owned for 4 years. Wrigley has had a very successful dressage career and has won at every level from First level through Grand Prix with scores over 70%. In 2011 Wrigley was third in the U.S. at the Developing Horse Prix St George Championships, and won the NEDA Fall CDI at PSG with 70%.

In 2012 he was undefeated in all Young horse Grand Prix classes and was put on the USEF Elite training list.

In 2013 Sharon and Wrigley were awarded the USDF Carol Lavell Advanced Dressage Prize. Sharon and Wrigley are currently training at Pineland Farm in ME with Michael Poulin. Wrigley has won all his Grand Prix classes in 2013 as well as his first CDI at Grand Prix in Allentown, NJ.
